Raymond Stephen Olivares

Raymond Stephen Olivares was born on May 21, 1995,  in Los Angeles and was tragically killed on February 19, 2023, at the age of 27.

He was the innocent bystander crossing the street to his own home when a careless and reckless driver drove at excessive speed on the center divider striking Raymond and his fiancé Maria.

Raymond was determined to inspire those around him to work hard and pursue higher education. He became a proud, first-generation college student at Cal State LA and worked as a Student Engineer for the City of Los Angeles's Department of Public Works (DPW).

In 2019, he became the first in our family to graduate college, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Shortly after, he was promoted to Environmental Engineering Associate 2 at DPW's Solid Resources Processing and Construction Division.

Raymond will be remembered as an accomplished engineer who worked hard and served as an advocate/mentor to others. Always in our hearts as the most loving, caring and funny son, fiance, brother, and uncle, his absence carries heavy on our hearts.
