Village Christian School Pays Tribute to Cyclist, Jeff Knopp

Another group came out on Sunday, April 29th to "Finish The Ride" for a cyclist taken too soon by a distracted driver.

2 and a half years ago, on November 1st, 2016, Jeff Knopp (USMC (ret.), loving husband and father) was cycling on Foothill Boulevard -- a stretch of road classified in Los Angeles' High Injury Network -- when he was hit from behind while riding a particularly dangerous stretch of road that had no bike lane. Jeff was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, right before his wife Jennifer arrived. Since then, the city has installed a protected bike lane along the stretch of road where Jeff was killed. This was largely due to his wife Jennifer's and friends advocacy.

A "Finish The Ride" Memorial Ride was held last November at Jennifer's request and as part of our SAFE Support program. And this year, Village Christian School joined us to honor Jeff again and "Finish The Ride!"

Thank you for your support from all of us at SAFE and Jennifer Knopp!
