Here at Streets Are For Everyone, we took May by storm—and it’s been non-stop ever since!

First up: our signature event is happening tomorrow and Sunday—Finish The Ride and Finish The Run Griffith Park! Whether you're cycling, running, walking, cheering from the sidelines, or relaxing in the fabulous (and free!) expo area, this event is all about community, remembrance, and the push for safer streets for everyone.

I’d love to see you there—it’s gonna be epic!

Also this month, we celebrated the creativity that poured out of our Streets, Art, SAFE Film and Poster Competition. Throughout the school year, young filmmakers and graphic designers learned about traffic safety through the arts. Their powerful messages about safety, equity, and reclaiming our streets are nothing short of inspiring, and we’re so proud of their work.

And finally, we’re celebrating successfully creating change to the LA Mayor’s proposed budget—change that helped restore 127 critical positions at LADOT—roles that literally save lives. Huge thanks to our volunteers and advocacy partners—LA Walks, Bike LA, SAFE Families, Streets For All, Move LA, People for Mobility Justice, SoCal Families for Safe Streets, and more. We love working with you and appreciate every moment.

Our Biggest Event of the Year

One of our most impactful advocacy events of the year starts tomorrow!!!

We’ve got an unforgettable Finish The Ride and Finish The Run this year—which, in fact, is actively being set up at The Autry as I type this! Thanks to our partnership with AAA, the expo area has been expanded and is packed with exciting new features.

This event isn’t just about fun—it’s about making a difference. Join us with your family to raise awareness for road safety, honor the lives lost, and help power our 2025 advocacy initiatives.

May 3rd saw the awards ceremony for our 9th annual high school film and inaugural poster competition.

Streets, Art, SAFE is a fun and creative program that educates high school students about traffic safety through the arts - film, posters, and visual storytelling.

“Last year was my first year in the competition, and I already felt like I was a better driver. Coming back to the competition, it has motivated me to inspire other people to become better drivers as well.” — T.O.
